Food Crime

The problem

An apparent problem in today's society is its relation to consume and amounts of waste created in households. This can be seen in the following facts and figures from 2019:

45,5 liters of drinks per person per year are wasted down the sink or toilet;

34,3 kg is the average amount of solid food waste in Dutch households per person.


The action

The team wanted to tackle this issue by entering in the subconscious mind, of students and lecturers of Hotelschool the Hague and other visitors that may be present during the Food Crime Event and suggest these individuals alternative methods to prevent such waste. Before providing alternatives, the individuals were participating in a quiz that was supposed to raise awareness around the amounts of waste that are created per person per year on average.
